NIOS Study Centres (Accredited Institutions - AIs)

A NIOS Study Centre, officially called an Accredited Institution (AI), is a NIOS-authorised school or institution that provides academic and administrative support to learners enrolled in Secondary and Senior Secondary courses.


Who Can Become an AI?

  • Schools affiliated with CBSE/CISCE/State Boards/any other recognized board
  • Overseas institutions may apply through the Indian Embassy

Choosing Your Study Centre

During NIOS admission, learners select their preferred AI based on proximity for easier travel to PCP classes.

NIOS also provides a Study Centre Locator tool on the official portal, where students can search centres by state, district, and AI code.
